On Friday 17 February 2023, Gyermelyi Zrt. handed over a new mill built with an investment of more than 16 million euros. This made Gyermelyi’s headquarters the largest milling capacity on one single site in Hungary, strengthening the role of Gyermelyi as one of the most important players in milling business within the country.

Béla Tóth, CEO of Gyermelyi Zrt., said that the new mill is capable of grinding 300 tons of soft wheat per day. With the development, together with the output of the two existing mills, the grinding capacity of Gyermelyi Zrt. will increase to 800 tons per day. In addition to supplying it’s own pasta factory and Hungarian partners, this also enables to boost the export sales of the milling products.

After the construction of the mill, the grain storage capacity will be increased with an additional investment of nearly 8 million euros. A structure capable of storing 40,000 tons of grain will be built by summer.

The company operates a fully closed product path to produce its products, which is unique at European level. The crop production sector, which underpins the production of flour, farms on 8,200 hectares and cooperates with 250 farmers, the CEO said.
