Between 2024 and 2027, the Gyermelyi Group is implementing one of the largest development programs in its history. Covering several areas of the company’s operations, the investment program aims to further strengthen production security, reduce environmental impact and reinforce Gyermelyi’s position in both domestic and regional markets.

The developments are progressing according to schedule, with several new facilities already completed alongside ongoing preparatory works. The steady growth in production volumes and changing consumer needs have made it necessary to modernise both logistics and manufacturing systems. One of the key elements of the investment program is a new automated high-bay warehouse which enables faster and more efficient goods handling. At the same time, the capacity of the pasta factory is being expanded and packaging technologies are being upgraded, ensuring that the quality consumers have come to expect from Gyermelyi is maintained even as production volumes increase.

The development of the company’s egg production operations is another key focus. As part of this program, a new laying hen facility using an alternative, barn-based housing system is being built, providing capacity for a total of 300,000 laying hens. The first barn is already operational, meaning that Gyermelyi barn eggs from the company’s own production will soon be available to consumers.

The new facility is expected to reach full capacity in the second half of 2027. By then, nearly 30% of the eggs produced by the company are expected to come from alternative housing systems. Gyermelyi is committed to the long-term development of alternative housing technologies, with further expansion planned in this area in the coming years.
The growth in egg production will also be supported by a new egg packing and processing facility. Structural construction work began in the summer of 2026, and the new facility will represent another important milestone in the continued development of the company’s egg operations.
Alongside its production investments, Gyermelyi has also made significant progress in sustainability. Thanks to the company’s solar energy developments, approximately 20% of its annual electricity demand is already covered by renewable energy. Further investments planned for the coming years will increase this share even further.
As a result of the development cycle running through 2027, Gyermelyi will not only further strengthen its manufacturing and logistics capacities but also contribute to the long-term development of a sustainable, modern and competitive Hungarian food industry.
